This is a large vintage 1979 album Theophanes the Greek. The book was published in Moscow, USSR in 1979 by Izobrazitelnoye Iskusstvo Publishers. Hard cover, 199 pages, 152 wonderful illustrations with captions. The book is written in Russian with summary and list of plates in English & Russian. This book was written by academician Alpatov. It is very nice OLD album; cloth binding, the illustrations are made on heavy fine paper. The book is in very good condition; very thick and heavy over 4 lb. Size: 13.75 x 10.75 inches. The album has a lot of information about Theophanes the Greek and his XIV Century artworks. The most of the illustrations show the original not restored paintings and frescoes.
