This beautiful Baltic Amber has been popular throughout the World for Centuries and is reflected in many of the regions folk tales. Amber Jewels are actually pieces of petrified tree sap and found in only three areas throughout the World. Occasionally, you may find pieces of insects or plants trapped inside these jewels but they are quite rare. Amber has a unique quality of being light enough to float on water and was originally explained through folk tales as being gifts from the young maiden Ambrella to her parents after she was kidnapped by the Prince of the seas. All our amber is from the Baltic Sea and it is set in sterling silver.
