This is a vintage unique wall decoration made in USSR in 1992 at the famous Russian Zlatoust Souvenir Factory. Zlatoust wall decorations are made on stainless steel with extremely complicated technology which includes: engraving, etching, nickel plating, gilding, painting. There is a hole for hanging it on the wall. Zlatoust steel engraving, a unique art form, originated in the 19th century. Products of Zlatoust masters adorn the collections of the largest museums in the world: the State Hermitage Museum, the Armory of the Moscow Kremlin, the Museum of Weapons in Germany. Manufacturing technology consists of metal engraving, thermal and chemical treatments, which allows you to keep the product in its original form for than many years. Pure gold, silver, nickel used for decoration give the engraving a unique charm, elegance and beauty. This wall decoration Zlatoust plate has a little curved shape; size 8.25 x 4”. The plaque is signed with initials of the artist A.Z. and has writing “Zlatoust 1992” (see picture). Because this item was made in 1992 it is sold in as-is condition, it has “traces” of time.
