Vintage decorative hand painted Russian folk 3- strings musical instrument Balalaika. It was made in USSR in 1980s. The Balalaika is made out of wood and intricately hand painted with a scene of the famous Russian fairy tale ''Chicken with Golden Eggs''. Black and white copy of the fairy tale will be included with the balalaika. This item is great for home and office decoration (it is NOT actual musical instrument). Size 16 x 10.5 x 3.75''. It is in excellent vintage condition. The balalaika is one of the oldest Russian folk musical instruments. The earliest mention of the balalaika dates back to a 1688 in Russian antique documents. It is also mentioned in a document dated 1714 and signed by Russian Emperor Peter the Great regarding the wedding celebrations in Saint Petersburg.
