ORIGINAL USSR vintage hat for Flying Air Force Officer of the Soviet Union Air Force. This hat was used 1955-57 for USSR Flying Air Force Officer parade uniform. The hat has black peak and blue band. It has Gold chin cord and peak anodized aluminum decoration. Original 1950s cap badge with a wreath in anodized aluminum and centerpiece in gilded brass and enamels. The top of the crown has wings signifying flight personnel; the non-flying Air Force officers did not have the wings on the top. The inside label has logo of the Headgear Factory in Moscow. The hat is made out of great quality wool lined with cotton. Russian size is 57, which is equal to 7-1/8 US size or 22.4 inches circumference. The hat is in very good vintage condition but one of the original buttons has heavy patina and the top of the crown has some imperfections (see pictures).
