This great quality Russian lacquer box Princess Frog fairy tale was created by Russian artist Serov from Palekh art School, Russia. Tempera, gold, multi-layers lacquer finish. The box is hand painted from all sides and signed by the Russian artist in 2004. On the bottom of the box you can see written in Russian language: subject of the painting, name of the art school , year of the box made and the signature of the artist in gold letters (see details). The painting represents Russian fairy tale “Princess Frog”. The box has a very unusual perfume bottle shape, which make it great for the collection. Size of the box is 1.5 D x 4.25 W x 5 H inches. Russian lacquer boxes are well known all over the world. There are four villages located not far from Moscow, which create Russian lacquer miniatures. The schools of this art (named by villages) are PALEKH, MSTERA, KHOLYI, and FEDOSKINO. This box is one of a kind. Box is in excellent vintage condition. The pictures are part of the description.
