This is beautiful vintage Baltic Sea Natural Amber Pendant Cross handmade and polished in Lithuania in 1990s. It has a sterling silver hook and white metal 26 inches chain. Size is 1.1'' with hook; 0.8'' without hook and 0.5'' wide. The amber has natural inclusions. The cross is in excellent condition; pictures are part of the description. You receive the cross what you see on the pictures. Amber is the fossilized, hardened resin of trees, ranging in age from less than a million to more than 300 million years old. This beautiful Baltic Amber has been popular throughout the World for Centuries and is reflected in many of the regions folk tales. Amber Jewels are actually pieces of petrified tree sap and found in only three areas throughout the World. Occasionally, you may find pieces of insects or plants trapped inside these jewels but they are quite rare. Amber has a unique quality of being light enough to float on water and was originally explained through folk tales as being gifts from the young maiden Ambrella to her parents after she was kidnapped by the Prince of the seas.
