Vintage 1970s Kasli Dutch Soot Cast-Iron Wall Decor Silver Hoof Made in USSR #47 $89.95 This is a Vintage Rare Kasli Cast-Iron beautiful wall decoration ''Silver Hoof''. Silver Hoof story was created by famous Russian writer Pavel Bazhov. This plaque was cast out of Dutch soot iron using precision technique. It was made in the 1978 at the Kasli Architectural and Artistic Casting Plant located in Chelyabinsk Region in USSR. The plaque was designed by Soviet artist I.V. Beschastnov. The plaque has original stamp of Kasli plant (see picture). Size: 8.25 x 7''; 9.2 mm thickness; weight 2 lb. Kasli cast-iron products were produced in Kasli (Southern Ural), from the mid-19th century. Kasli castings are characterized by skilled craftsmanship visible in exceptional clarity and smoothness of the metal surface. High-quality iron was smelted on a wood fire and cast in consistently fine sand. The wall decoration is in excellent vintage condition.
