This is a Vintage 1980s Rare Kusa Cast-Iron Sailing Boat Figurine. This figurine was cast out of Dutch soot iron using precision technique. It was made in the 1980s at the Iron Works Plant located in small city of Kusa in Chelyabinsk Region in USSR. Size: 6L x 4.5W; thickness 1''; weight over 14 oz. Kusa cast-iron products were produced in Kusa (Southern Ural), from the end of XVIII century. Kusa castings are characterized by skilled craftsmanship visible in exceptional clarity and smoothness of the metal surface. High-quality iron was smelted on a wood fire and cast in consistently fine sand. The sailing boat figurine is in excellent vintage condition.
