This is beautiful vintage genuine Baltic Amber Necklace made in Latvia in 1980s. Length of the necklace is 28in. The necklace has almost invisible screw in clasp with original amber outside (see picture). This beautiful Baltic Amber has been popular throughout the World for Centuries and is reflected in many of the regions folk tales. Amber Jewels are actually pieces of petrified tree sap and found in only three areas throughout the World. Occasionally, you may find pieces of insects or plants trapped inside these jewels but they are quite rare. Amber has a unique quality of being light enough to float on water and was originally explained through folk tales as being gifts from the young maiden Ambrella to her parents after she was kidnapped by the Prince of the seas.
