USSR vintage hat for General of the Soviet Union Border Guards. This hat is for USSR General parade uniform. The hat has black leather peak and black band. This beautiful hat is WIRE embroidered. The hat has authentic general cap badge and 2 general buttons. Cap badge and buttons are gold plated. Original generals cap badges are 2 piece construction. Please note that the star is the separate piece connected to the cap badge by 2 rivets and elevated over the cap badge (see picture). The hat is made out of great quality wool and lined with silk serge. The sweatband is made out of genuine leather, and has a string for an adjustable fit. This feature is available only for generals and marshals caps. Russian size is 59, which is equal to 7-3/8 US size or 23.2 inches circumference. The hat is in very good vintage condition but shape of the top is not exactly round (see picture); specially priced.
